I sewed Eileen's block exchange block today. I may have to use this pattern in a quilt someday - it has good spaces to show off large prints.

BE 2015 Eileen's Block
This is Eileen's Block (mine). It's called X and Plus. I provided all the fabrics for it (because I have enough fabric to make quilts for the entire planet).
Size: 12.5 inches square
My instructions were kind of lame, so if you need some more assistance, there's a good tutorial (which is where I got the idea for this quilt) here:

See you in Michigan soon!!!
Hi Block Exchangers
In anticipation of my trip to Michigan, I finished the rest of the exchange blocks and will bring them to Cindy's to distribute.
Terry's block. My favorite blues - I loved piecing this block.
Carol's block. I kept thinking I was done and then found I still had to cut about a dozen more rectangles! It is a great block once it is done, though.
Dorothy's Log Cabin - this is going to be a lovely quilt with the yellow diagonals and the bright colors.
Two pieces for Georgia's heartwarmers baby quilt.
A blue block for Bonnie's"man quilt" for chemo patients.
Eileen's incredibly subtle quilt block.
See you soon!

I sewed two exchange blocks today - Eileen's block and Cindy's block. Both are going to be beautiful quilts!

Eileen's block
This is Eileen's block (mine). I almost forgot to post it!
Pretty straightforward, with a lovely print from Jean Morrison's line called Grand Hotel.
I obviously didn't take this picture of myself ... but I like it.

Three more blocks in the mail
I'm going into the home stretch to finish my Block Exchange blocks on time! Here are the three I mailed this week.
Eileen's modern quilt block - either for one of two quilts or for one humongous quilt!
Louise's kids quilt block. It was fun to get to use the penguin fabric that Jackie sent me in the mail from a fabric-buying trip she took with Jan.
Carol Schon's flying geese strips and a set of strips she is cutting up and reassembling. It will be fun to see what she does with this combination of geese and strips.
I've got one block left to sew this weekend: Terry's blue and white block. I'm glad to be finishing by sewing a block using my favorite blue colors.

Eileen's block
This is Eileen's block. It's called Swoon.
The instructions are pretty involved. She provided the fabric. Some people have a gray background, some have a white background. Here are the instructions she gave us follow:
Make hsq's from two 3-7/8" squares to make two hsq's (with color 2 and background)
Repeat this process with color 1 and background (make four of those)
Repeat again with color 1 and 2 (make 8 of those)
For the flying geese units, use one of the 6.5X3.5 (color 1) and two background 3.5" squares to make one flying geese unit.
Make four flying geese units with color 1 and background. Make 4 units with color two and background.
From the half square triangles, squares and rectangles make the four corner units.
From the flying geese and rectangles, make the four middle units of the blocks.
